OFFICIAL ROAST REPORT
We're sorry. Actually, no we're not.
This town was settled by 18th-century Pennsylvania Dutch farmers and merchants, only to become the headquarters of Harleysville Insurance until it got bought out by Nationwide in 2012. Now they cling to their heritage with an annual "Apple Butter Frolic" where they make apple butter in copper kettles like it's 1774. Nothing says "we've peaked" like cosplaying your ancestors while living in a strip mall paradise.
Residents consistently brag about their "friendly neighbors, well-kept yards, and lots of parks" like they invented basic human decency. They're so proud of their "nightlife and food scene" that they describe walking to restaurants without driving as "unusual for the suburbs" and claim it "makes it feel like a little city." Imagine being so starved for culture that a strip mall gastropub feels cosmopolitan.
Locals rave about their "great nightlife and food scene" centered around something called "the Vault area" with multiple bars and restaurants. Their dining scene peaks at "The Butcher and Barkeep" and "Mainland Inn" - names so generic they sound like restaurant generators had a stroke. When your idea of fine dining is alliterative gastropub names, you know you're living the suburban dream.
Located at the thrilling junction of Route 63 and Route 113, thirty miles northwest of Philadelphia, sitting in the watershed of the romantically-named Perkiomen Creek. Their biggest geographic flex is being "a short drive to the Lansdale interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike" with recent "slip-lane improvements." When highway access ramps are your scenic highlights, maybe it's time to admit you're just a commuter holding pattern with delusions of community.
