OFFICIAL ROAST REPORT
We're sorry. Actually, no we're not.
Greensboro, Vermont has 811 people spread across 38 square miles, making it less dense than a retirement home parking lot. The fact that they needed to create eight different 'places' within the town (Campbells Corners, East Greensboro, etc.) is like naming every room in your house a different neighborhood. When your entire town could fit in a high school auditorium, maybe stop pretending you're a metropolis.
Nothing says 'authentic Vermont experience' like driving 70 miles on dirt roads to wait two hours for a $25 beer that tastes like pretentious grass. Hill Farmstead has convinced beer nerds that geographic isolation equals quality, turning Greensboro into a mecca for people who use the word 'terroir' unironically. The brewery's crowning achievement is making hipsters drive through actual cow pastures to feel superior about their drinking habits.
Greensboro was named after Timothy Green, who received the original charter and then promptly let his land get sold for unpaid taxes without ever visiting the place. The town's founding father literally ghosted them before ghosting was even a thing. Of the original proprietors, only three actually bothered to live there - apparently even in 1781, people took one look at Greensboro and said 'thanks, but no thanks.'
Greensboro's claim to fame is Caspian Lake, which sounds exotic until you realize it's basically a large puddle in Vermont that someone gave a fancy name. The locals act like it's the Mediterranean, when it's really just where the Highland Lodge dumps its rich summer people who think roughing it means staying somewhere without valet parking. Pro tip: calling your pond after the world's largest lake doesn't make your town less irrelevant.
